I compiled this history a long time ago, when I was part of an online Final Fantasy sim, based on messageboards and IM (back then, mostly ICQ) chats. I don't remember if it had any name - I remembered it as the Fort Condor / Rocket Town sim, since those were the two cities I was a member of. The history below was compiled to be used in a monthly "newspaper", the Rocket Town Monthly, but then never got published. I'm putting it up now, in the hopes of it waking some nostalagia in the people who were once a part of the thing. I know that the chances of any sim member actually stumbling on this are pretty slim, but what the heck. It never hurts to try.
 
 
 
 

Two persons contributed for this research, namely Emperor
Tony of Solaris, and Xavier Redfield. I have noted what each
person told me: A (T) means that Tony told me it, and an (X)
means that Xavier told it to me.

(T): Well I came from a far away planet named "Ignas". Believe it or not, I was a
criminal there and fled to start a new life. I then came to his planet and
saw that there were no people on it. Me and a few hundred people built a
small trading post. I named it "Midgar". People soon moved there and it grew
quickly. I then established a government and declared Midgar it's own
country.

(X): Midgar was, in fact, the very first city. It was run by a game named
President Tony, who is now presently the President of Solaris. Manazeal and
Jaden Nirthinka used to work for Tony, but thye didn't agree with the way he
was running things and so broke away from Midgar and formed Fort Condor.
Well, one day, Manazeal disappeared - Jaden was depressed and so took over
Fort Condor in place of Manazeal

(T): Soon other countries arose. This including Fort Condor, which was
Midgar base before they won their independence, and Wutai.

(X): At the same time, Midgar was waging a war
against Fort Condor and Wutai at the same time.

(T):  Wutai and Midgar  got involved in a small war, but large enough to spell
disaster for Wutai.  Now they are nothing but ruins, on it's tattered island.

(X): Although Midgar crushed
Wutai because of air superiority, the war between Fort Condor and Midgar
ended in a truce. For a time, there was peace, then more war, which again
ended in peace.

(T): Then Neo-Midgar was  created by Dark Star, it quickly grew to be larger than
Midgar, but for some reason was abondoned by everyone. Rocket Town was then established. After
this I went back to Ignas, and back to my home country of Solaris. This
country was actually a huge starship, that served as our land. I took over,
and flew the starship back to this planet, and made the starship into a city
on the ground. That is where it stands today as the Sacred Empire of
Solaris

(X):
It was only shortly after Manazeal resigned that President Tony was resigned
as well. he appointed Wobbler LeGivre to the position of the new President.
But this one guy, who was actually Tony's closest friend and a seasoned
general of the Midgar air force (*I don't remember his name, so I'll just
call him Jerry*). In any case, apparently, Tony had promised the position of
President to Jerry once he resigned, and Jerry had grown extremely upset. He
started a big fuss because the position was in fact rightfully his - Tony
had apparently just forgotten about Jerry. Jerry had asked for the position
of Vice-President, but had instead given it to Wendy Kisaragi. Well, in the
end, Jerry ended up disgracing himself horribly and so ended the entire
mattter by going to Tony himself. The rest of the details are somewhat
sketchy, but it's from these ruins that the Solaris empire rose, with Tony
at the head and Jerry second in command.

(T): Since Solaris was already established and technologically superior
to the rest of the world, we quickly grew into a Superpower amongst Rocket
Town, and Midgar. Then after Solaris defeated Galbadia, our Empire spread
even larger.

(X): After that, Jerry just disappeared,
and nobody ever heard from him again. Except for Lanally Lore - I clearly
remember, because she was my fiancee, that she knew jerry really well. You
may wish to get the rest of the details from her. She runs Kalm now.

About this time, I opened up the IMC, International Mission Control. My job
was to create and moderate missions on Clyde's behalf, and for the time that
it was open,it proved insanely successful.

Now, mind you, Fort Condor had problems of it's own. Jaden was having
trouble keeping Fort Condor looking beautiful and updated. So, she appointed
Thuggy Ripsta to serve as Vice President. She later appointed myself, Xavier
Redfield, to serve as another Vice-President. After that, we continued
working for her for months - though I doubt 'working' is the right word
under those conditions, it was more like slaving - until we finally got fed
up and confronted Jaden, and told her how much she sucked and everything.
Thuggy went really overboard, and I felt kind of bad for Jaden. After that,
she threatened to leave the sim and take Lanally with her, so I had a nice
long talk, and then Jaden decided not to leave after all.

About the same time, Jaden was engaged to marry the new President of Midgar,
Wobbler LeGivre. The marriage went through and Jaden became the official
wife of Wobbler. Thuggy Ripsta was appointed to President after she moved
and I remained Vice-President.

At this point, a Turk reported some hokum to Wobbler that several key
members of the Simulation Theocracy, including Clyde Arrowny, Wendy
Kisaragi, Thuggy Ripsta, Sabin Figaro, and myself had planned a coup against
Midgar, intending to overthrowing Wobbler, Jaden, and Strider and replace
Kisaragi as the leader of Midgar. But nothing came of it, and in the end, it
all went to waste.

Days earlier, Jaden had gone crying to Wobbler that Kisaragi had shouted at
her and called her names (dirty ones). Wobbler was shocked and put Wendy on
trial. There was speculation that it was not professional, but a personal
matter - that Wobbler wanted to teach Wendy a lesson about ever making Jaden
cry. I defended her in court but proved to Wobbler about what he was doing
and that how, from a professional point of view, it was wrong. In the end,
he allowed Wendy to continue her position as Vice-President.

Along came Thanandar.....hired by an unknown source, Thanandar challenged
Wobbler to a fight to the death and he accepted. I was one of the witnesses
to the fight, Wobbler's will said so himself (I was introduced to Wobbler by
Clyde minutes earlier, who was moderating the fight). Wobbler was killed
within the first six rounds of combat.
the conditions of the fight stated that Wobbler would never be allowed back
into the sims - ever. And so, Wobbler was gone forever.

Kisaragi became the new President of Midgar, and things rapidly grew better
and better. The Shadow's Den collapsed in a sense, but Clyde Arrowny became
the President of Rocket Town. Jaden remarried Tony of Solaris
(coincidentally, I found this surprising because of the godawful things Tony
had said about Jaden only years before). Thuggy eventually left his position
and gave it to me, but I was never around and the position went instead to
Rage Stormhammer. Fort Condor has, sad to say, lost it's superpower status
since that time.

Times have changed a lot, I must say. Clyde was in the game before anybody.
He was just a regular Joe Schmoe, like me. I actually started off as a
Chocobo Hunter for Manazeal, but I was soon given a ranch and became a
Chocobo Rancher. After that, I maintained my job until I became a Mayor and
then a Vice-President. wendy started off as a trainer of Ninjas at a dojo,
but she joined way after I did. We all started of as regular people, and now
look where we are.....we've all had control of at least one Sim Superpower.
I miss those old days. I proposed to Lanally and we married, had a few
children. I never really, truly loved Lanally - I had actually grown quite
fond of Wendy, but I never mustered up the courage to tell her. Quite too
late now though, I guess. I quit the sims, and IMC is now in the hands of
WIlliam Strider, I think. In any case, I miss it all.

As for Jaden - well, just one word can do it: gold digger. She married every
man who was in a position of power till she was blue in the face. Thuggy
quit the sims, too, and I honestly don't know what happened to him. Clyde,
like I said, went off to hold up Rocket Town, and Wendy is still the
President of Midgar.

Oh, yeah, I managed to bribe Thanandar to tell me who had hired him. I lost
12000 gil, but I found that Simkin branford had hired Thanandar to do the
job. I then gave his name to the Guild of the Blind Maphisto - they're
hunting him down even as we speak.
