From the diary of Silvan the Dryad Session date: 14.9.2003 [Diary excerpt incomplete] We decided not to ambush the pursuer for now, but instead continue to Cenoby. We were so close to settlements, it would've been too easy for somebody to hear the sounds of battle. We heard noise as we approached the town - it seemed like there was some sort of a commotion going on. Passing a group of armed men who were loading a wagon with pies, we came to the center square. A large human was standing on a pedestal there, trying to bring some order into the crowd. Apparently the people were upset over the fact that the road to Dorandor was out of use, and over the fact that the bridge hadn't been repaired yet. We made our way through the crowd and reached the big man. His name was Wolfgar, and he was the local blacksmith. He was only there to shout at people. He suggested we go talk to a thin man near the pedestal. The thinny was a half-elf, and he'd been in charge of the town for a few days since his dad was MIA. His name was Felar. The people were quite discontent over the fact that somebody this young and inexperienced was in charge. Felar's dad had vanished yesterday. Buran wanted to take Felar a little to the side to explain the situation. Felar left Wolfgar to handle the situation and took us to his house. On the way, we witnessed Felar talking to the man guarding the two pie wagons, who intended on going to the bridge themselves to find out what was going on. We suggested we'd talk to them at first, and upon hearing that we were from Dorandor, they followed us to Felar's house. We explained the situation, but Felar and the pie merchant, Ian, were rather suspicious. Apparently something odd was going on, since the people had been told the bridge only needed some repairs, and there were people at work repairing it. Ian flat-out refused to believe us and left, saying he'd take his guards and go check out the situation by the bridge himself. Buran tried to persuade Felar to gather soldiers and send them to the bridge, but Felar was hesitant. He said the soldiers couldn't be moved from the border without an order from the royal house, and our story wasn't very convincing. He relented enough to send Wolfgar with us to the bridge, however, to investigate what was going on. We tried getting an arrest warrant on the man who'd been following us, but with no luck. Eventually Felar not-so-discreetly suggested he'd rather see us leave, and we did. We met with Wolfgar, who'd apparently gotten things back under control again, and agreed to get going within an hour or so. After Wolfgar had left, Buran came up with the idea that the townspeople could send a messenger to the harbor and ask for confirmation for our story. We left the message to a guard who said he'd relay it on to Felar. The undead and the demon left to buy some food from the butcher, and I followed them. While we were there, a few kids came running to the butcher, asking where they could find some waste meat. The butcher told them and they left, and out of curiosity, I followed. As I followed the kids, I ran into the man who'd been following us. After a quick conversation, he departed, and I went after him. He went to an inn, like he'd told me he would, but quickly left from the other door. For a moment, I hesitated between following him and seeing what those kids from before were doing, but then decided to follow him. Bad choice.
