From the diary of Silvan the Dryad Session date: 11.1.2004 We asked Wiltshire about what might happen if his majordomo died. He said he'd be very happy if that did happen, but it wasn't likely to happen anytime soon yet. He didn't take our proposal of us dealing with the majordomo very seriously, either. We looted some weapons and opened a new door. We found something that seemed to be an office of some sort. There were scrolls and some sort of an easel. We grabbed some scrolls and shoved them into Buran's chest. They seemed to contain pictures and maps of cities, but we didn't recognize any of the names or locales. Werner said he'd heard one of the names in old stories, but could not recall which stories exactly. We found one more stone pillar. It said, "Us five fought against the mortals." Werner told us that during the War Between The Mortals And The Gods, Dagardan, (?), Dorgan, Fangas had fought against the mortals. It was time for us to guess who the fifth was. The excitement! The thrill of the guess! Abraham was not an alternative, there was no knowledge of him. Azmodan probably not either, Juliennah would have shaped the war differently. Tamaol and Ulenlan were also unlikely. We guessed Anxar for the fifth one. It seemed to be correct, and the last door opened (though there was one more door after it!). There was a big table with no chairs. There was a map on the table. There were some very interesting bits on the papers, about holy sacred all-powerful artifacts. Wiltshire said we couldn't keep these artifacts after all. He refused to raise our reward, saying he did not have that kind of authority. We told him he could get the things to his majordomo himself - he said okay, and animated an orc to carry all the things. Bummer. The last door wanted one name. It had absolutely no hints. Considering that the notes mentioned a "stored separately" item, we tried Necreegh. It was right, and we found two identical short swords made out of black steel. We suggested Wiltshire turn over the extra sword to us. In case one of the weapons wouldn't be god-made, he said he could give us one of the weapons. After talking about the items for a while, we heard a warning from the outside about approaching orcs. Everyone grabbed what they could and began to run. We came outside and ran after Wiltshire like one big scared mass of people. We decided to head for the Orcish Rocks. On the way, we saw a caravan that had been attacked. It looked like it'd happened a few days ago. The orcs spotted us on the way and ran after us. We ran like Great Burning Hollow. Buran began to slowly become left behind. We reached the Orcish Rocks. I climbed on them, and so did a bunch of others. While we were climbing, the orcs began to catch up on us, and their leader told the rest of us to stop climbing or we'd be reduced to living or not so living pin cushions. Most of us ignored them and continued climbing, but Werner the Wuss surrendered. Buran was wounded during the climb, but we managed to drop some of them. After some fighting, arrows began to rain on the backs of the orcs and they boldly ran away. Brave sir orc ran away... We looked at the sky and saw flying creatures, the ones we'd seen before, shooting at the orcs. They had saved our lives and we were very grateful. We saw, to our joy, one of the MMM. There was a much clumsiness and silliness as we climbed down the mountain to the other side. The MMM beat his head against the mountain and we were sure the whole world would hear it, yes he was really that loud. The MMM patched us up. He said that the Master had been worried about us (or, to be more exact, he'd been worried about WTF we were doing). He escorted us to Dorandor. Werner left to find the Old Man. We were taken to talk with Master. We explained to him what happened. The Master smiled and said this was interesting. He said the artifacts probably wouldn't be of much use in the long run, for he had most of the gods already in his possession, and the rest of them would probably also fall soon. Mwuahahahaha. According to what M knew, the dagger had been constantly on the move, never really stored anywhere. Necreegh's weapons were the only ones that he thought mortals might be able to use. All the artifacts required a strong spirit which they drew from. M summoned a kobold and told Longfoot to defend himself against it. Longfoot hit it with the weapon, and the kobold was split in two. Longfoot also fainted, however. Our undead tried to use the weapon and began to feel very ill. There were to exceptions, the Master thought. When the Necreegh's Dagger was used, the target and somebody nearby died, for the dagger protected its user. The Spirit Snare sword, in turn, allowed somebody to snare other spirits, which were stored in the sword and helped others use the other artifacts. The Willow Root could be used to learn divine magic. The more spirits one had (in the Spirit Snare), the more magic one could use. We slept. 16th day The wounded among us stayed at the Master's Keep and the rest headed to Kind Sir Wiltshire for our reward. We came to Wiltshire Keep, but nothing happened! Apparently, the gods were busy doing something else and had no time to devote to animating the people at this Keep. After waiting for a while, the game fixed itself and we got inside. Hylas came to meet us, together with Lord Wiltshire. First Hylas threatened to throw us to his dungeons, but then changed his mind and gave us 1 gold 750 silver. Hylas said he'd been trying to locate the Book of Necreegh. Should we be able to find it, he could pay us a whole 50 (!!!) gold pieces. His spies had told him that the book had been in the Fortress Belvedere for a while, after which it had probably been sent towards Aleandor. He said he could fund our expedition with 500 silver to be used for tolls and bribes. We agreed. We reported back to the Master, with whom we discussed the situation. He planned on finding out something about the Spear of Anxar before leaving. Necreegh and Azmodan were the only loose ends. The master paid us our wages for the period we were going to be here. He didn't agree with the theory presented in the Godly Library that magic was going disappear with the gods, for magic had come with the spirits, and even if the gods would disappear, the small spirits would still remain and magic would remain with them. The Master also said he was not going to use the godly artifacts to boost his powers, and if that was what he wanted, he could've done it already. Buran asked the Master if he had some good use for the Royal Letter of Thanks that he'd want to reward us for (Urgh! That was one thing I wouldn't have wanted to give to the Master's disposal. One of the few things we -might- have one day been able to use against the Master, and now we're giving it to the Master, allowing him to extending his influence even further. Ah well... Mental note, it might be a good idea to not tell Buran everything in the future). We met Werner. He'd found The Old Man, but TOM had been uncharacteristically unquiet. We suspected TOM might be mind controlled by the Master, or something along those lines. We went to visit the Mapmaker's Keep. We reached the Mapkeeper's Keep. We found maps. We were told about three roads and which one we should follow to reach Aleandor.
